With over 13 years of experience in microbiology and sterility assurance within the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, Laura Wahlen leads microbiology strategy and implementation for both PSC Biotech® and BioTechnique®. She specializes in contamination control, aseptic validation, and sterilization science. Laura has hands-on leadership experience in BSL-2 and BSL-3 labs and works closely with regulatory bodies including the FDA, Health Canada, and TÜV. She has developed and validated microbial methods supporting the full product lifecycle—from R&D to commercial manufacturing—and has conducted disinfection efficacy testing for cleanrooms, pharmaceutical water systems, dialysis systems, and biofilms. An active member of ASTM Subcommittee E35.15 on Antimicrobial Agents, Laura has contributed to the development of a new standard method, reinforcing her role as a leader in microbial control and sterility assurance.
