Peter Licari is biochemical engineer with over three decades of experience in biotechnology. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Animate Biosciences where he leads efforts to develop AI-driven, peptide-based solutions targeting fibrosis. Previously, Peter served as Chief Technology Officer at Eat Just, Inc. and Good Meat, Inc., overseeing the development and commercialization of innovative plant-based and cultivated meat products, including the world’s first regulatory approvals for cultivated chicken in Singapore and the U.S. His earlier roles include CTO at Solazyme, SVP at Kosan Biosciences, and leadership positions at Massachusetts Biologics Laboratory, BASF Bioresearch Corporation, and Merck, where he contributed to vaccine and biologics manufacturing and development. Peter holds a doctorate from the California Institute of Technology and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
